DUBLIN, Ca. — The “North” and “South” split their two high-profile matchups Saturday during the nine-game, 16th NorCal Tip-Off Classic at Dublin High.
*Eastvale (located about nine miles north of Corona, for those familiar with Riverside County) Roosevelt trailed 5-zip before reeling off 19 consecutive points en route to 77-72 victory over San Francisco Riordan.
The 5-0 Mustangs hit 10 3-pointers in the first half (they finished with 14) while going in front by as many as 21 points before intermission.
That advantage was 19 points going into the final quarter before Coach Steve Singleton’s offense bogged down via rushed/ill-advised shot attempts (usually, after one pass beyond mid-court) and six missed free throws.
