NORWALK, Ca. – Six-foot-10 Charles Bassey, possibly the top prospect in the national Class of 2019, is expected to make his third Pangos All-American Camp appearance this weekend while highlight the 16^th version of one of the most high-profile grassroots basketball events in in the country.

The camp tips off Friday night at Cerritos College, with the first rounds of games set for 8:30 and 9:30.

Games continue Saturday afternoon at 3 and 4 o’clock; later that evening at 6:45 and 7:45; and Sunday morning at 9:30 and 10:30.

ORANGE, Ca. – Do you have a spare couple of hours at your disposal Saturday and would like to seem some of the very best high school basketball players from anywhere?

  Then I’d suggest rolling over to Orange Lutheran High.

That’s the headquarters for the Magic Memorial Festival, presented by adidas.

The event, which tipped off Friday night and is hosted by Etop Udo-Ema and his capable Compton Magic Crew, includes multiple divisions of (mostly) adidas-fronted club programs competing for championships that will be decided on Monday.

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – Session No. 3 of the 2018 Nike/Elite Youth Basketball League wrapped up Sunday afternoon in the Lakepoint Sporting Community Champions Center – by the way, the finest of the multi-court facilities that I’ve been inside of for grassroots hoops events.

Sunday’s highlights, including my choice to the Top 15 individual, weekend-long performances I watched:

*Team Takeover (made up of players from in and around Washington, DC) improved to 12-0 with its 76-50 victory over Rose City (OR), behind the 30-point performance of Class of 2019 guard Dedan Young (Hyattsville, MD, DeMatha).

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – Cole Anthony – even with his team just splitting its two games – continued to make an impressive on-court argument as to why he may be the No. 1 player of the national high school Class of 2019 Saturday in the Lakepoint Community Sporting Community Champions Center.

His PSA Cardinals (NY) team was knocked off by another New York squad – The Lightning, 69-61 – Saturday morning on the second day of the third Nike/Elite Youth Basketball League session.

But the Cardinals were impeccable that night against yet another New York-based EYBL squad, rolling past the Renaissance, 76-40.

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – Some highlights from Friday night’s action in the Lakepoint Sporting Community Champions Center, on Day 1 of session No. 3 of the Nike/Elite Youth Basketball League:

JAY WRIGHT’S next elite jump shooter was on display during the first session (6:30) of games Friday night.

Six-foot-four Justin Moore (Hyattsville, MD, DeMatha), a recent commitment for Villanova from the Class of 2019, nailed four consecutive 3s in the first half to help Team Takeover (Washington, DC-area) cruise to a double-figure lead and eventually knock off the PSA Cardinals (New York), 81-69.
