LADERA RANCH, Ca. – The Compton Magic 17U squad made it 2-for-2 in two weekends Sunday afternoon at the Ladera Ranch Sports Center.
Onyeka Okongwu, the State Player of the Year after leading his Chino Hills High to a State Division I championship last March in Sacramento, averaged 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 4.0 blocked shots in leading the Magic to victories over the OSA Crusaders (from Nebraska), 73-69, in a semifinal and the Massachusetts Rivals, 58-57, for the championship in the gold bracket of the five-day adidas Summer Championships.
