Seven games set for first-ever boys hoops showcase at St. Anthony

LONG BEACH – Session I of the first-ever “Fear the Halo” boys’ basketball showcase tips at 10 o’clock Saturday morning on Darrick Martin Court in St. Anthony High’s Jack Errion Gymnasium.

Coach Alan Mitchell and his program play host to the seven to the seven-game event, which begins with the Buena Park-Silverado clash and concludes with the 7 o’clock game between Crean Lutheran (No. 11 in the BurlisonOnBasketball SoCal preseason Top 30) and St. Bernard (No. 25).

The host Saints play Hesperia at 1 o’clock.

Session II of the event is set for Dec. 20.

Frank Burlison is a well-regarded basketball writer who was inducted into the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Hall of Fame in 2005.
