ANAHEIM – The Ballislife boys’ high school All-American Camp was held Aug. 17&18 at Open Gym Premier, with some of the region’s top guards in the Class of 2025 on hand.
*Eastvale Roosevelt was repped by two players in the Top 20 Upperclassmen all-star game: 6-foot-2 Issac Williamson and another senior, 6-3 Dominic Copenhagen.
Williamson (pictured), a starter for the adidas-front Compton Magic 17U squad this spring and summer, joins Brayden Burries and Myles Walker as returning all-CIF Southern Section selections from the 31-4 Mustangs.
After averaging about 18 minutes and start a lot of games as a junior, Copenhagen is expected to be a full-time starter for Coach Steve Singleton’s team as it attempts to win CIF SS and State Open Division titles next spring.
*Another all-CIF SS guard from last season, senior Aaron Glass of Rancho Cucamonga, scored with relative ease via deep- and mid-range jumpers, and nifty drives.
*Two Class of 2025 members from a 29-5 Windward team that lost to Notre Dame/Sherman oaks in the CIF SS Division I finale, Jeremiah Hampton and Louis Bond, were also among the 10-best seniors at the camp.
With all-CIF SS point guard Gavin Hightower having transferred to Sierra Canyon for his senior season, Hampton and Bond – both terrific scorers – will likely be called upon to often run the team’s half-court sets and direct the Wildcats’ transition attack.
*One of the best jump shooters in Orange County – and beyond – also hit a lot of shots over the two days.
Luke Barnett is a junior at Mater Dei and will help assure the Monarchs’ perimeter attack will once again be top notch.
Another sharp-shooting guard, Collin Haugh (Dana Hills), also sizzled from deep at the camp. He could – more apt, should – lead Orange County in scoring in ’24-25.
