LAS VEGAS –  Sixteen Southern California-based boys’ basketball players are among the near-100 players listed on the roster for the 2024 Pangos All-American Camp, set to tip off later Sunday evening at Bishop Gorman High.

Among those players are a trio from Roosevelt in Eastvale in SoCal Junior of the Year Brayden Burries and classmates Issac Williamson and Myles Walker.

The Mustangs were 31-4 last season, with losses to eventual State Open champion Harvard-Westlake in the CIF Southern Section and State Southern Region Open title games.

Among the other Southland players from the Class of 2025 on the roster include all-CIF SS selections Gavin Hightower (Windward), Hudson Mayes (Redondo), Jovani Ruff (Long Beach Poly), Mazi Mosley (St. Francis) and Aaron Glass (Rancho Cucamonga).

Other California standouts scheduled to be in attendance include the Santa Maria St. Joseph duo of Toundre Yessoufou and Julius Price.

Meet Frank

Frank Burlison

Frank Burlison is a well-regarded basketball writer who was inducted into the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Hall of Fame in 2005. His opinions on the potential of high school and college players are widely respected and sought by college coaches and NBA scouts, personnel directors and general managers from coast to coast. Oh, yes – he can offer plenty of thoughts on movies, television and pop music. Yes, he can rank those, too. Hint: He’s a big The Godfather, Larry Sanders, The Wire and The Beatles loyalist.

I’ve known Frank for at least 35 years and have the utmost respect for his writing as well as his understanding of, and insight into, basketball. His ability to evaluate basketball prospects is almost impeccable. Most coaches and scouts watch a player and can tell you how good he is NOW. What separates Frank from the others is that he can watch the same player and tell you how good he can be two or three years down the line.
