ST. GEORGE, UTAH – Two members apiece from the Classes of 2021 and ’22 shared the figurative “hardware” following the conclusion of the two-day, Full-Court Press All-West Camp Sunday afternoon in the Net’s on Fire facility.
Forwards Mouhamed Bbaye (C/O 2021) and Jeremiah Nyarko (C/O 2022) scored 14 points apiece to lead the white jerseys over their dark counterparts, 94-83, in the camp finale, the Top 30 All-Star Game, and earned co-Most Outstanding Player honors for the contest.
Bagging overall camp honors (three camp “league” games plus the all-star contest) were guards Collin Chandler (who demonstrated oh-so-clearly that he’s one of the top juniors, not just in the west but the entire country) and a future USC player, Reese Dixon-Waters.
The 6-foot-4 Chandler (pictured), who also had several spectacular plays on the defensive end, scored 14 points for the dark jerseys while Dixon-Waters had 13, including three 3s, for the winning squad.
Approximately 240 players were on hand for the Saturday and Sunday games.
Among the players in the Top 30 contest (two of those selected, Taviontae Jackson and Ben Krystkowiak, had to depart for home before the game was played) were 14 from Southern California and nine from the Las Vegas area.
Las Vegas is approximately 115 miles south of St. George.
Three players from Liberty (located in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson) were in the Top 30 game, as were three from Southern California’s St. Bernard High, including Dixon-Waters.
