Three more prep boys hoops showcases this weekend

St. Bernard, St. Francis and Westchester are among the high schools joining Redondo Union (Take Flight Challenge) and Bishop Montgomery (Winter Real Run Classic) playing host to “showcase” boys basketball events Saturday.

The Vikings (No. 15 in the latest BurlisonOnBasketball Top 25), who take on Long Beach Poly in the Take Flight Challenge Friday, play host to the South Bay Challenge and face King/Drew at 4:30.

No. 10 Windward wraps up the event against Hillcrest of Riverside.

At. St. Francis, the Golden Eagles are the home school for the New Year’s Shootout and cap the even with a game against Grant at 5:30.

St. Francis guard Andre Henry (pictured) was the Most Outstanding Player while helping his squad win the Silver Division of the Classic at Damien Monday evening.

And, at Westchester, a five-game showcase sees the host Comets (No. 20) face Lake Oswego from Oregon at 6:30.

At St. Bernard

  Saturday: 10:30 a.m., St. Paul vs. St. Pius X/St. Matthias; Noon, Carson vs. Morningside; 1:30 p.m., L.A. View Park vs. L.A. University; 3, Cleveland vs. South Gate; 4:30, St. Bernard vs. King/Drew; 6, West Torrance vs. Peninsula; 7:30, Windward vs. Riverside Hillcrest.

New Year’s Shootout

At St. Francis High

  Saturday: 1 p.m., La Canada vs. Oak Park; 4, Ribet Academy vs. West Ranch; 5:30, St. Francis vs.  Grant.

Westchester Challenge

At Westchester High

  Saturday: 12:30 p.m., Van Nuys vs. Burbank; 2, Bakersfield vs. South Gate South East; 3:30, Duarte vs. Notre Dame-Riverside; 5, Gahr vs. Rolling Hills Prep; 6:30, Lake Oswego (OR) vs. Westchester.
