LAGUNA NIGUEL, Ca. – Chatsworth, CA, Sierra Canyon and Los Angeles Fairfax came out of the second to last day of 2014 with championships in two of the most challenge post-Christmas high school tournaments in the country.
Sierra Canyon used two free throws by junior point guard Devearl Ramsey with eight-tenths of a second remaining to edge Mableton, GA, Pebblebrook, 67-66, in the finale of the Open Division of the MaxPreps Holiday Classic at Rancho Mirage.
And Fairfax got 20 points from reserve Lorne Currie and used a 14-0 run in the second half to overcome a seven-point deficit in the third quarter and knocked off Redondo Beach Redondo, 56-51, in the National Division finale of the Under Armour Holiday Classic at Torrey Pines High.
