BELLFLOWER, Ca. – The St. John Bosco High boys’ basketball program will play host to the “Braves Big 12 Summer Classic” this week.
Eight of the 12 programs in the event participated in last spring’s first-ever CIF Southern Section Open Division Playoffs, including ultimately sectional and state champion Santa Ana Mater Dei.
Pool play begins Monday afternoon at 3:30, with the championship game set for Saturday evening at 6 o’clock.
The pool-play schedule:
Monday: 3:30, Gardena Serra vs. Anaheim Servite; 5, L.A. Cathedral vs. La Habra Sonora; 6:30, Bellflower St. John Bosco vs. Harbor City Narbonne; 8, Compton vs. Montebello Cantwell.
Tuesday: 3:30, Mater Dei vs. Cantwell; 5, Bishop Montgomery vs. St. John Bosco; 6:30, Long Beach Poly vs. Serra; 8, Redondo vs. L.A. Cathedral.
Wednesday: 3:30, Poly vs. Servite; 5, Bishop Montgomery vs. Narbonne; 6:30, Sonora vs. Redondo; 8, Mater Dei vs. Compton.
Thursday: Playoffs, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Saturday: Playoffs, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
