Redondo Union High plays host to 16-team tourney

REDONDO BEACH – The “Battle At The Beach, Part II”, hosted by Redondo Union High, gets underway Friday afternoon with a 16-team field, including some of which should be among the better hoops teams in Southern California during the 2013-14 season.

Among the schools represented will be Santa Ana Mater Dei, Torrance Bishop Montgomery, L.A. Windward and, of course, the host.

Action gets underway at 3 p.m. with pool-play competition.

Play continues on Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday morning at 9.

The championship semifinals are set for 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, with the title game scheduled for a 1:40 p.m. tip-off.
