SAN DIEGO – The best of the best within the 619 and 858 area codes will be on display tonight (April 13) during the San Diego County Basketball Coaches Association Senior Boys and Girls North-South All-Star games.
The girls’ and boys’ contests will be held at Horizon High (5331 Mt. Alifan, San Diego), with respective schedule tip-off times at 5:30 and 8 o’clock, respectively.
Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students.
At least seven boys’ who signed letters of intent in November with NCAA Division I-affiliated programs are expected to play.
One of those is 6-foot-2 Javion Watson (Long Beach State) San Ysidro for the South, the section’s Division I Player of the Year.
The rest are scheduled to play for the North: 6-6 Matt Shrigley (San Diego State) of La Costa Canyon, the D-II Player of the Year; 6-9 Sam Beeler (UC Santa Barbara) of Poway; 6-2 Dayton Boddie (UC Riverside) of El Camino; 6-1 Dalante Dunklin (UCSB) of Francis Parker; 6-2 Joe Rahon (Boston College) of Torrey Pines; and 6-1 David Travers (Georgia State) of Torrey Pines.
And another player for the North, 6-2 Garrett Galvin (Torrey Pines), is among the best unsigned seniors in California.
