Six-foot-eleven Patson Siame committed to Loyola Marymount this week.
The Impact Basketball Academy center, who hails from Zambia, has showed off his skills recently in the Nevada Basketball Development League in Las Vegas.
I’ve had the opportunity to watch him play there, so I’ll break down his game a bit.
Siame uses his combination of height and athleticism to block shots and dunk relentlessly. He has an impressive motor and runs well.
Though raw, he’s demonstrated a good feel for the game. He’s a willing screener in the pick-and-roll and blocks shots on the weak side without compromising the team’s defense.
He doesn’t hesitate to post up smaller defenders, call for the ball, and make an aggressive move to the rim. He needs to continue working on his confidence and aggressiveness against opponents who can match his size and athleticism.
Though he’s still developing his footwork in the post and on the boards, he rebounds well and can score on his athleticism alone against smaller or less athletic defenders. He’s still developing his handle and face-up game, though both show promise.
He’s a good fit for a team that likes to play in transition because he’s proactive with his outlet passing and hustles up the floor to join the fast break.
Siame has a lot of enthusiasm for the game and he loves to be out there on the court. That passion should serve him well in his development.
He will join Loyola Marymount this fall.
Check back in tomorrow when I recap this past weekend’s Nevada Basketball Development League action!

Hello! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this
site? I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
